About us…where to start? I, Kathleen, was against marijuana before I was for it, as I felt it was responsible for my first divorce. I have since then come to understand chemical dependency and see how the disease is responsible, not the drug of choice. So I feel strongly that God, my name for Him, (or Her) put me on this path and then to keep me on my path He sent some money to myself-and-my-now-not-working-carpenter-husband via an inheritance (my dear old Aunt Merle) Whom I may add, never did really get old, but her body expired at the age of 90, with a bottle of brandy in her refrigerator, for pain I am sure. As well; my aunt would want me to do good things with the money she left in my care and be smart with it!!! I should mention that a member of my family was diagnosed with M.S. seven years ago and I then began reading the information about medical marijuana. I began with pro/con medical marijuana search and was amazed at the info there!!! I then checked with Christians for medical marijuana, wow!! They were more open minded than me! That is how my journey into medical mmj. began, it had begun before but that was a plan I had not made... My now 24 year old son was on a Prescription mix of pharmaceutical meds. 10 years ago, and I am as sure as God put me here, he would have been much better off with a plant and a bong and a brownie mix and a really bright light and a timer and a license to grow medicine!! Not that he should need one. However I am SO glad we now can GET A LICENSE and grow our own medicine!!! Except that is not as easy as it sounds…..so God sent my contractor husband, a sub-contractor , a dear young soul, Matt, who knows how to grow medicine in a fashion that is like no other!!! Apparently his relative (in Oregon) has been in this mind set for awhile now and is quite successful….the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree! Who knew my contractor husband was going to become jobless?? I believe there was a plan before we could have made one, as my husband is the BEST PLANNER (with the exception of my daughter) that I have known. I am sure, as well, that my husband was and is a huge part of the whole path that I feel we are on together and as a family!!! He came to me and mine as a “set in his ways” bachelor, with a dog with a sweater, and a mom-mobile but no kids….weird! Not much money, but no debt, which we know, is money in the bank these days!! My dear old aunts’ approved so he finally gave up his bachelor days and is my dear and devoted husband and father to our 12 year old son. And he builds stuff!!!! So my prayers were answered before I asked. Now my knight-in-shining-armor has learned how to negotiate the computer and is communicating to more people than he ever thought he might, on a daily basis!!!! And he is learning botany!!! And he cooks and does dishes and pays bills on time and with his own money!!! Who knew!!? Heaven sent!! I knew it on our first date!!! We sat on the rims and we were circled with clouds as though we were in heaven and his middle name is Knight and we are sure there were angels gathered when they threw us at each other and our dear friends encouraged us to give one another an opportunity to impress the pants off each other (tee-hee). And now we are married and surrounded by the same angels with a few more in attendance. And that is how Heaven Scent began!! Thank-you to our families and our friends and to our patients as well!! We are here for you and because of you!! We will not forget that!! Thank-you!!!
